Zoom B2, can you plug direct into a power amp?

I know there isnt a line out on this pedal, but if you turn the "level out" down enough will that work or be close to being a "line out" level and safe enough to go directly into a poweramp (Crown power base 1 in this case) ? thanks...

Don't know, but you would be turning the output up, not down, and the question isn't whether it's safe but whether it's sufficient.

Edit: Just D/L'ed the manual, and it says yes. Use the headphone jack, as it doubles as a line output. It may not work ideally with all power amps, but it should work with most.

Isn't the headphone jack a stereo out?

You might need to consider a stereo -> mono adapter or cable, especially if you use any stereo effects.

Just a thought...hope it helps.

Being that the unit has amp modeling features I would say you can use it directly into a power amp. It's not ideal if you need to make tweaks while you are playing since the menu system of the unit is not very easy to navigate, but it should work fine if you just use your patches as programmed.

YEa its output level and resistance works ok with most amps just make sure you set the output levels similar for each effect you use so you dont get a surprise hose your speakers. The output is stereo but a normal single TS works ok with it since thats how its designed to work into a head.

came across review a while back someone used B1 and B2 for that.. B1 wasn't enough, B2 was and it would drive up to 90%.. don't remember specifics. From playing with B2.1 and G2 you would need to adjust patch, there is a huge discrepancy btw level of output.

I tried this with a typical rack power amp and it barely put out enough to drive it. I had to turn up the power amp all the way and it had no tone. However, I tried the same thing with the power section of a peavey bass amp and it sounded great.
