when trying to create your own patches how do you start clean with only your amp and bass tone. is it possible to create a bypass patch and then edit from there. i have tried by starting in bypass and that doesn,t work. the only starting points seems to be finding a settting you like and edit from there and i would like to start completely clean.thanks

First just pick a user patch, like A0. Then turn off all the modules. Then save. All the user patches start out the same as the preset ones but it only takes a minute to clear them. Have fun.

yes, many of us use this method to create patch orders like:

effect --> clean ---> effect ---> clean etc

Just turn off everything and set the volume on that patch to the level you want, then you can start adding stuff to the patch if you want to.

I never use the EQ on the zoom, i just use the units as a pure effect since i have my M80 at the end of the chain to EQ the signal.

I have a "neutral" patch which is everything off with a touch of room reverb, but I also use a foot switch to go into bypass/tune/mute mode.
I have a tendency to program in steps going from a clean setting to a modulated setting(chorus or flange usually) into a freaky sound back to a mild this way it is easy for me to switch sounds with just a few stomps.
For example here is the 1st bank:
BassBrad's Zoom B2.1U User
A0 Neutral room
A1 Pop Bassman
A2 Rockin' Drive ODB3
A3 Auto Funkin' Wah
A4 Pop Bassman
A5 Pop Bassman with Chorus
A6 Thumb Bomb
A7 Pop Bassman
A8 Looper delay solo
A9 Pop Bassman Flanged
B0 Motown Jazz
