Micro-amp head bags may also be interesting. My VT Bass Deluxe travels in a Genz Shuttle bag.

I made up a custom case out of 1/2" ply and dense foam.

A friend of mine had the bag to his Fender Rumble bass head he didn't want and it works great for carrying my B3 and cables and such.
