What expression pedal are you guys using? I'm using an EV-5 and it works ok but it doesn't sweep all the way to full speed on some effects (compared to diddling the knobs) and I don't really like the way it feels. So what are the expression pedal users using?

I don't use expression pedals, but isn't there an adjustment for pedal level in one of the menus?
I'm at work at present (no B3 to look at) and seem to recall it appearing in the far right hand window of one of the menus.
Is it the Total menu? If so I guess it should be individually adjustable for each patch.

It's in the total menu but when I sweep from 0 to 50, 50 on the expression is not as fast as 50 if I turn the rate knob. I think the taper is a little different on the zoom expression pedal compared to the taper of the EV-5.

I am using the M-Audio model. Works well; took a bit of tweaking though.

i am recording off the b3 into garage band so it should be recognized but it only powers up using the power adapter or batteries.

yes, tried it with USB powered mode, it just keeps blinking the lights switching on and off because its not getting enough power. and am connecting the b3 direct to the MBP and NOT using any usb hubs.

although am using a old printer cable, but its unlikely that thats the problem because am able to record using that cable but i will try another cable soon enough

What's with the Zz*ds? Is Zzounds anathema around here for some reason?

So picked up my B3 today and really dig all the options. Haven't made it much past the looper and drum machine but will get there soon. Couldn't get the included software to work for recording but Audacity works great.

I found one used on Craigslist for $140. Had to drive a bit but it was worth it. Looks brand new, has the box software power supply and documentation.

Yeah mate, that will be awesome.

Honestly, the only effect I really want to add to the B3 is another b3

Yep

I'm in. anyone do any comparisons between the Digitech bp355 and the b3? Crystalman85? I am more concerned with the amp emulations and the ease of use with the UI. Overall, if you had to choose one, which of these would you stuff in your bag when headed to uncharted territory? Maybe I will use 'em together for certain things. Hmm. . .
Thanks!
B.

Crystalman85 has heaps of sound samples of both the BP355 and B3 on his Soundclick (I think it is) page.

I saw his page last night (and listened to the B3 clips), but I was getting an error message if I tried to go past page two. It works today, and I see his clips for the BP355. Thanks; I will do some a/b listening tonight. And thanks Crystalman85! Great resource.

b3 live

close to pulling trigger on b3 but still a little confused as to its usefulness through an amp live. Ive read many positives on recording or going direct or using as your preamp or practicing through headphones but not a lot about just plugging it into your amp and listening to what comes out of your cabinet--can anyone clear this aspect of it for me? P.S mostly concerned with amp modeling and clean tones.
Thanks

Check out CharlieC's thread on "Using the B3 as a Preamp". He covers a lot of what your asking about. I'm currently using mine live with my cabinets and FOH sound. It does a great job, once configured to do so. But, out of the box.... It will need some adjusting.

Just got my B3. Woaaah. It's like opening pandora's box. I added some patches from the Patch Ideas thread. Some really good sounding stuff in there. Theres just soooo much stuff to play with!

I'll never be board with my pedalboard again!
