What amp model do you guys think is most like an EBS? so far all the modeled amps and cabs really destroy my tone.

None. I prefer to sound if my GK stack. What's your current amp / bass set up?

I'm not familiar with EBS amps, but there is SO much tweakability in the B3 I'd be very surprised if you couldn't get real close somehow.
Keep trying!

I tend to use the SVT amp modelling on most of my patches.
Through my Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.0, which is very transparent (a good thing btw), it works brilliantly for me.

I wouldn't approach any of the amp sims expecting them to sound like the amps they claim to be. Just take the time to play wit each one and figure out which one works best for the sound you hear in your head.

Well I go through a B7K to the B3 with the gate on to a ashdown mini rig, when I record though all of the modeled amps and cabs make my B7K sound horrible like it's going through a radio or something.

Edit: EBS amps are known for being very transparent.

+1
Also, try using different cabinet emulations, adjusting their mix, or turning them off. The SVT model makes a decent overdrive with no cabinet emulation.

True but I have been quite pleased with how much the GK sim reminds me of my 1001RBII.

My B3 should be here tomorrow. I notice the Mac versions listed for Edit&Share go up to 10.7.

I made the unfortunate mistake of upgrading to Mountain Loin. Does Edit&Share work with 10.8?

even with my Ampeg rig, the svt amp patches sound awesome!
and i wouldn't qualify a '73 Ampeg V4 as a transparent head... but with a flat eq, it does the trick!

I just had a play around with using the B3 for vocal effects.
It worked better than I had expected.

Details are here (3rd reply down): Using a Zoom B3 for vocal effects

Is this pedal worth it?

I have the boss me-50b and have had a few multi effect pedals in the past but I've never really been a big fan of them. There was something about them that seemed a bit fake to be honest. I do prefer individual stomp boxes to be honest as the sound is better. What i ant to know is, Does this owrk just aswell as indivudal stomp effects or is it no different than previous zoom multi effects

Only you can answer that for yourself. I think the B3 is quite good.

I only have an old Zoom 506II effects unit to compare. Needless to say, the B3 is streets (no actually cities) ahead of that in every regard!

Go to your local guitar/bass shop and try a B3 out.
(I reckon you'll walk out with a slightly lighter wallet!)

If you want transparency don't use any amp sim

Another issue while I'm waiting to find a B3...
I have the possibility of some work over the holidays where there is an amp-free stage, and the players are all DI and in-ear monitors... To bring my own DI so I have some tone setting options for different styles, I'm considering the B3, or something else in multi; or an Eden/Sansamp option.
So - for a DI purpose right to the house in a pro live setting, with minimal effects use and the need for at least a couple of tone changes, can I expect a quality, noise-free DI signal from the B3?

Generally, yes.
I have found that some effects are noisier than others, but "ZNR" or "Graphic EQ" usually sorts them out.

I ran from the DI of my B3 directly to the IEM of the drummer at a gig one night, and he commented how clean and tight the tone was.

I asked before but, does anyone know what pedal they were emulating with the dual compression? It resembles the Digitech Bass Squeeze in the knob display, though it has little hammers for decorations which makes me think it might be something else. Anyone know?

I don't think its modeled after a single pedal. Pretty sure its just called dual comp because the patch includes two compressors.
