Sign in to disble this ad
I just ordered the Zoom B9.1ut -

Question: For those of you that have had the pleasure of playing with this floor processor..What seems to work best for you? Going through the Front end (or) the FX Loop ?

Whats best for live applications ?

I have a basic 200 watt solid state head with FX loop in/out..

You've gotta love a poll where the options are:
  • Multi-choice but semantically mutually exclusive.
  • Not geared toward answering the question in the actual post.
  • Missing a carrot related alternative.
As far as to where in the signal chain to put it, I guess it depends. It's clearly meant to be the first - and possibly only - thing after the instrument.

Actually.. the poll was for fun.. and you have the option of loving it, liking it and hating it...the thread is for info.. you swede guys just make me laugh.. are all of you over there David Bowie look a likes?

surely the b9.1 is made for live applications.. I can't see all of those push buttons for a desktop recording device.

Well, the reply was just as much for fun.

I use the B9.1 live and at home. Live it's preceded by my cheap wireless which works flawlessly. I like it well enough, but I could live without the pedal. With me doing lead vocals my opportunities for manipulating something with my feet are limited.

I could use it in the FX loop, but honestly I don't see the point.

It's really designed to work best front end of your amp. The unit itself does have it's own fx loop too, so you could do the '4 cable method' and run some effect before your amp's preamp, and some after.

Whether you'll get any benefit from this is up to you.

Personally my B9.1ut is under my bed gathering dust. It's simply not flexible enough in certain areas that my GT6B was, and vice versa. A combination of the two would have been great. (The zooms drive sounds and fx loop capability and useability, with the GT6B's level of editing, signal chain options, combination of amp sim 'and' drive simultaneously).

As such, I've gone back to stompboxes!
