Are they all really hand painted? If so how?.....must be a pain in the you know what to paint each one. Maybe they have a special template for each pedal....eh who knows. but yea....the paint jobs are very cool. looking at the woolly mammoth in person, i am very impressed with the paint job.
O yea...... i've been messing with a friend's woolly mammoth. one trick pony which lacks much versatility but it sounds pretty damn good. obviously for the price it is overrated and i would never fork over $360 for a new one but i have the opportunity to buy one for $200. good deal? i think i could flip it if i sold it later. |

Jason Myrold and crew are amazing.

(but seriously).
And, they DO use templates. I had an interview at the shop last spring, and got a bit of a tour. Real cool shop. Anyway, there's a template and something of a step-by-step process with the paintjobs. It was really cool to see.

He's done countless motorcycles tanks, gun stocks, skateboards, murals, magazine advertisements and even guitars and basses. He's good at it but there are many other professional artists who could do the same thing and ZVEX obviously has a person on their staff with this level of talent. It doesn't mean that everything is painted freehand; there are many techniques that artists use for illustration.
It's just like a professional musician with years of practice - he can do amazing stuff on command and make it look easy yet it's hard for an amateur to believe that it can be done.

I know that Shan uses a template for almost everything every time and freehands as little as possible. Zvex does an amazing job w/ their paint jobs! |

Just the Vexter's are assimbled over seas and silkscreened and the USA vexters are made here in the US and silk screened.
