The Mid-Boost Cut pot puked on Fender MIA Deluxe. Ordered an original replacement from my local GS. A quick install, and she plays like new. It's amazing how happy a $4 pot can make a guy!!!

it's that little pot at the end of the plate, right?

those always get blown out from pressure on the knob pushing the back away from the base of the pot.

i routinely crimp them back together, whereupon they usually work fine again.

Yeah, that just happened to mine too! I tried to put it back together but something must have been bent inside and it didn't work after I recrimped it unless you pulled on the knob! So I put a spring under the knob so I could use it until the new pot came. Then I just put in another one. No biggie but I'd expect Fender to put a bit higher quality than a fall-apart pot in there!

$4 worth of pot doesn't usually go very far

I actually bought one of these pre's used with the mid pot needing a replacement, which was included when I bought it. And yes, it was so much better.
