1964 Precision pickup wire

Folks

One of my '64P's pickup wires is down to the last bit of wire, ie. the normal twisted thread of wires have all broken bar one!

So I want to keep it original but I don't want the last wire to fail during a gig so, I guess I should:

a) break the wire, cut back the sheath and solder it back
b) add solder between the good wire and the connection point
c) replace the whole wire if shortening the wire doesn't work (makes it too short)

Can you get retro-wire for this sort of thing? Any suggestions/comments?

Cheers
Davo

Just resolder it. This happens all the time with pickups.
