| 5 string j bass pickup suggestions
Hello bass heads-
New to the forum. Just bought a Squier Affinity Series J bass. I'm looking to upgrade the stock pickups to achieve a more professional gig-ready sound. Does anyone have any experience/advice/suggestions on what pickups would give a nice vintage j bass tone for gigs? I am not really looking to mod the body too much, so I'm pretty much looking for a retrofit for a Fender/Squier V. Talked to bigfatbass today and he recommended Passive Lindy Fralins or Nordstoms. Has anyone modded their 5 string j bass pickups with positive results? Or any professional gig-worn advice on his matter? |
