5-string jazz for fretless bass

I'm getting ready to convert an old Yamaha BBN5A into a fretless and while I'm doing - or down the road before too long - I plan to replace the pickups. This is a passive bass with three controls, so I'd like a passive setup, plus I like passive basses for fretless. I have a few questions about this.

What pickups will be a direct fit into the current routings?

What passive 5-string jazz pickups accent that fretless "MWAH" best? Is there one that brings it out better than others?

If I do put in a preamp, what will fit without any routing or anything like that?

On Edit, I'd like to re-wire the pots for a volume, blend, tone, rather than two volumes. Is this fairly easy to do?
