60 cycle hum comming from warwick pre amp

I have a FNA Jazzman and am getting a nasty hum at my rehersal spot. Yes, this is the only place I have ever gotten it, but I like the bass and want to play it so this is where Im at. Besides, if it happens there... it could very well happen at a gig. Depending on where I stand in the room and what directon I face ( directly infront of my amp and towards it is the best outcome) it can go from non existent to very annoying.

I installed a Dimarzio Ultra Jazz in where the old single coil jazz was, and this was a help but not much. Switching from active to passive helps some of the time, but not all.

My westone with passive soap bars gets no hum whatso ever.

Whats my next step here??

Single coil buzz, doesnt matter who made them they will buzz unless you want to stand motionless at the angle where you dont buzz. Humbuckers wont buzz. Also try using a 2 prong plug adapter instead of the 3 prong to plug into the wall.

the new single coil is supposed to be hum canceling.

Is this wishful thinking??

Also, when I solo my MM pickup, there is still some hum... even when in passive mode.

is this just a finicky instrument??

It sounds like you have one humbucker pickup + one split coil jazz pickup, they should be pretty quiet.
Sounds like something isn't grounded right, a good shielding job is not a bad idea either

If it's only happening at your reheasal space,it could be the location.Does the room have dimmer switches?
You might need to look at your cables, amp & power source. If your amp has a ground lift, press it.
I cant speak for the Dimarzio you have installed, but I can speak for the factory fitted MEC's & they're very quiet pickups.Shielding the pickup cavities in pretty much a waste of time, but you might like to check the control cavity & make sure it's contacting properly wit the access cover, via a small copper tab.
If you're not familiar with electronics,it might be best to take it to a guitar tech & spend a few bucks.
Good luck with it bro.

I would consider fitting a 1:1 audio transformer, most are small enough to slip into the guitar somewhere, small enough to fit in the output jack cavity of a Strat. An audio transformer works wonders for noisey guitars I've dealt with that shielding alone doesn't cure, it's the same set up as used in the Gibson "Studio" models. You need to separate the bridge ground wire, run that direct to the output jack but run the hot and ground from the pots thru the transformer.
