is 60 cycle hum only a problem on bridge pickup?

I was wondering why discussions on 60 cycle hum are only about the bridge pickup and not the the neck pickup of a jazz bass or guitar pickups. I would appreciate a "pickup for dummies" education.
Thanks in advance

60Hz hum occurs anytime you have an odd number of coils, or if one coil is significantly louder than the other(s) if you have an even number of coils.

The neck pickup of a Jazz bass does indeed hum when soloed, just as the bridge pickup does.

You're probably only hearing complaints about single coil hum from bridge-pickup soloers, because it's not as common to solo the neck pickup.

right; it's the primary issue for P/J setups, where the neck cancels itself but the bridge is "left hanging".
