60 cycle solutions...

Sign in to disble this ad
I am building a bass.

I want to go with one jazz single coil pickup.

I'm also thinking of adding a piezo pickup in the cavity or the bridge type.

If I wire these together will the 60 cycle be gone?

Or do I need to buy the jazz pickup with the split coil in stead?

A piezo pickup doesn't work magnetically, so it has no effect on other magnets.

you could always get a split coil jazz pickup... i've got dimarzio ultra jazzes in my jazz bass and it sounds.. well like a jazz bass to me.

or if you are really really dead set on a 100% single-coil-no-split-coil-nonsense design then you could shell out $200 for a single darkstar. i hear those have almost no hum...

I think this'll be better in pickups.
