Heya, folks.
I was looking at my bass today, when I noticed something. My PU-spacing! I looked at it closer and the more I looked at it, the more I found it to be quite near the neck, instead of the 70's PU-spacing to the bridge! I'll put an image in the attachments.
I have always learned that 70's spacing is pole pieces in line with the tone knob. Like this (this is the exact same model btw): 
Anyone able to help me out here? Is my bass 'wrong'? Did they use a 60's body?

I'm sure the bass is not a fake. The brightness of the Sunburst is just messed up by the camera.

did you buy the bass new? from a dealer or online?
can you post a picture of the back of your headstock, and if not actual pic of the back of your bass above, post one of it also please ...
that is definitely 60's spacing in the pic you posted of the front of your body ... |

The sunbursting on the back gives it away.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Apr 2012 Location: European Mainland | | | They've just ignored the (...) out of me. And to be honest, I have forgotten about it. The bass is now in Germany (the Western European Fender maintenance centre) for a new neck, because it was (...) up. All of a sudden the neck became almost elastic and had a backbow. The truss rod didn't do anything.
Because of the spacing, I have decided to decline the offer of a new bass. Because of that they need to get a new neck from the factory @ Mexico, so I have to miss the J for another 3 weeks or so (that's 5 weeks in total).
If all this is fixed, I'll contact Fender again about it. You'll most def hear from me if they respond.
Anyway thanks for the interest!
EDIT: I should subtle the ignoring-part. About 6 weeks after my e-mail they responded and said that had sent in trough to someone at the factory or something. But since then... Nothing.
