62 Reissue Lefty Pickup? I posted this over on LeftyBass but thought I'd ask here too. I have a lefty Squire MIK P-bass that I just bought a 62 Reissue pickup for as an upgrade. Upon opening the box I see both halves of the pickup are mounted on foam blocks on a solid brass backing plate. My bass is a lefty strung lefty, so the pickup stagger is backwards. I'm thinking the easiest way to make it work is to remove the foam blocks, flip the plate and re-glue the blocks on the back? Either that or cut the plate and solder the two halves with a lefty stagger. Anyone ever do that? Does Fender make a lefty 62 reissue pickup? |
The plate is just for shielding. Just put the foam on the other side. Make sure the plate has a wire running to ground. |
Thanks! |
