Active pickups issues - become really quiet

Hi,

I got my Schecter 5 string about a year ago and I have been loving it since. However, after going on to a 2 months holidays, my bass becomes very quiet when I start playing again. I have gone through the common steps like changing batteries and rising pickups.

Result was nothing. I know that up to this point some might start to think that it is not that big up a problem, just turn it up a bit and adjust the pickups height again. No. To show you show quiet my bass is getting - when I rehearse with my band when it was okay, I set the gain on my amp at around 3 and I would be more than sufficient to be able to hear myself comfortably. Now, when I practice by myself, I turn the gain up to 6 or 7 or so, quiet as hell.

I had a look at the battery compartment and the wiring, the soldering seems fine and I have replaced the battery. What do you guys think the issue might be?
