advice on capacitors & tone pots

A set of Nord NJ4's are in the mail to upgrade my MIM jazz bass. I also want to fix my pots which are in need or replacing.
I've decided I want a volume/blend/tone configuration and heard that Carey uses a 250k on the volume.
I've heard TB'ers suggest a 500k pot on the blend (as it is dealing with 2 pickups) and a 250k on the tone pot.

My question is three-fold:

a) what tonal difference is there between varying capacitors (i.e. .022 & .047)

b) does it matter whether its an audio or linear tonal pot?

c) any brand suggestions? (i.e. vitamin q, fender 'no load,' etc.)

The Difference in the capacitor rating ,022 to .047 the .047 will give you a bit less high end . The higher the number the more highs you loose. I have a .1 in my p-bass with a Nordstrand NP4 and it hac super low end but very subdued Highs. Lots of thump but that is extreme.
As far as pots go for vol and tone the higher the resistance the more highs you get so the 500K would be brighter than the 250K . Fender No load pots in the tone position are nice because when you put them in the no load position they are effectively out of the circuit and your tone is actually wide open. The Blend has to be a different pot I am not sure of the type but it has to pass both pickups and feed one signal to the tone pot. It may be a stacked pot but I am not sure . I do know you can not use a regular tone or volume pot for the blend. Alpha, CTS,Fender. Are all good I think that as long as the pot works they all do the same thing and they don't make too much tonal difference between the Brands

No tonal difference between brands of pots, only construction quality; all you mentioned are acceptable.

For caps, buy a few and experiment; they're cheap. You won't know how it'll sound to your ears until you try. 2x47n, 1x22n and 1x10n will give you a huge range of possibilities. Wired in parallel, the values of the caps add, ie 47n//22n=69n.

I would disagree about there being no tonal differences in the pots. It will be subtle, but the lower the resistance of the pot the darker they sound. I would not get pots lower than 100K to avoid impedance loading on standard passives.

I only mentioned brand, not impedance.
