Advice on future project (MM+piezo+4 band)

Hi Guys,

It seems like I'm going to have a new job and I'm contemplating the idea of building a Warmoth bass.
I'm thinking 2 MM pickups (no more piezzo).
What MM pickups, preamp (4 band) would you recommend to nail that MM sound?

Also does anybody have an idea on the electronics and how to wire/connect them?
I like the idea of volume control for pups instead of switches.
I'm thinking since I have 4 pot drilled holes (SG body)
stacked pots:
volume+passive tone pot
neck pup+brigde pup
Low+low mid
high mid+high
Is that even possible?
