Advice for pickup and bridge for a fretless MIM jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
About a year ago I bought an all stock MIM fretless Fender. I want to upgrade the bridge and pickups. I'm on a rather tight budget so I can't afford anything too extravagant. I want something to give me a bit more sustain for the bridge and for the pickups I would like something that brings out the mwah sound of a fretless. (I didn't want to use the word "mwah" but oh well)
Any advice or suggestions would be great.

Unless the bridge you have is falling apart or rusting-out, leave it be and spend all your money on P'ups.

There are a TON of good p'ups out there, but were I short on $$, I'd look for someone selling some decent p'ups used. And I'd stay passive - saves money, no battery, etc.

Yeah, staying passive and buying used is a good idea, I think. I was hoping for maybe some specific suggestions for pickups. I was wondering what make of P'ups would have a good sounding midrange to accentuate the fretless sound.
