I have a Korean import with Daewon soabars and a 9 volt preamp (it's not a high dollar outfit.) It has a push/pull switch for active/passive mode. The preamp isn't working (only a small distorted sound when you dig in hard.) Passive just sounds bad.
My guess is the preamp is shot. Doesn't seem like both pickups would go bad at the same time. I was wondering if I could have a 2 volume/2 tone passive harness (4 knob bass) made and take out the preamp? If so, what pots/caps would you recommend? |
