Advice on upgrading

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all TBer, need some advice on upgrading of my bass. Am currently stuck between getting either the Audere JZ3 pre-amp or the Nordie NJ4. Which would be a more significant upgrade? Currently, am using a CIJ Fender Jazz, I am feeling the lack of strength for the low notes. Wanna upgrade partly also because of G.A.S.

The pre-amp is going to give you a more significant upgrade. It'll give you more control getting some bottom out of your bass. The Nordstrands have more midrange color than they do low end. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with the JZ3.

I put a JZ3 into my MIM Jazz and it was super simple to do and gives me great bottom end.

Hi have you considered an outboard preamp? You could use it with other basses. Any outboard pre can add lows. If you sell you jazz you still have the pre.
