Arrow advise needed regarding pickups for my squier J?

Sign in to disble this ad
i have a squier jazz bass, it sounds and plays awesome but am at times annoyed by the single coil hum i get on soloing the pickups. what humbucking/noiseless pickups would do the job while not making my bass sound really different from what i sounds like now? heh that must have been wierd! right?

i dont know, i like my bass tone i just cant solo the pickups and the vt bass preamp and EHX BBM fuzz only add to the noise. so am looking at humbuckers or something. but am also wondering if new pickups would really change my sound too much, or is there something am really really missing with these pickups??

i would be getting the pickups from the US to India so i cant change pickups again, its all a pita, should i just stick to the stock pickups if i like the sound or it would be really worth the effort?

my budget is around 100$ for the set, 140$ max i think. passives only. so basically i not need pickup recommendation i also need your advise on if i should even go for the change or not!

Have you looked at the very extensive "J pickups discussion and comparison" thread which is stickied as the first thread in the forum? That might be a good place to start to get an idea what pickups are out there for your Jazz, though it doesn't help much with figuring out what's available in India...
