after shielding the buzz got worse

Sign in to disble this ad
see I know how to write a descriptive topic. now on to business. I know its not a bass question but im a bass player and im working on this guitar for my nephew. after I get it all fixed repainted and put together there is a pretty bad buzz so I take it back apart -- oh telecaster copy -- pull out the aluminum tape scream and curse at it for a couple of hourse and suprise get the darn thing shielded. I put it back together and .. the buzz got worse grrrrrr...

ok so I used the largest sections of shielding tape I could, I soldered on all the joins to make a continuous connection. i double and tripple checked my wireing diagram(which sucked anyway) and it all seems right

heres the weird thing if I take the pickguard and neck pickup off and flip it over 90% of the buzz goes away..

im just hoping a luthier(note the spell check here doesnt know this word) here can tell me oh you wired a to b instead of c ... or something like that ...

thank you in advance.
