Aftermarket Fender PUPs vs Fender Mexican PUPs

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a bass that i got in a trade. Could be a mexican fender jazz or it could be an AllParts body with who knows what pups. I love the tone but i'd like it to be a little lounder or boomier. i dont want to go active. anyone know what would be good? are the aftermarket Fender Original Jazz Bass pups good?

The '62 fender reissues are really nice, but there are several aftermarket options. I have used Gotoh alnico V replacements and thought they sounded great. I also like the seymour/duncan models. If you are looking for more output you might want to look into their quarter-pounder model. Lane poor, Frailin, and Nordstrom all have great reputations, but are too expensive for my tastes.

I have had good luck with Duncan's vintage stacked humbucking Jazz Bass pickups and DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups.
