Anyone put a OBP-1 in a top route jazz? Will it fit?
It will be wired for 9 volt.

Probably not, but if it does manage to fit, things are going to be stuffed in pretty close.

Why not just rear route?

Or just route the tiny bit of extra space you may need?

No, it runs 9, 18 or 27V.
Personally, I wouldn't want to run one 9V anyways.
I have mine on 27V.

I traded an old MarkBass amp for a MiM J that had an OBP-1 stuffed into the cavity. No additional rear-routes, but they did make the cavity a little deeper and drilled a hole for the jack on the bottom of the bass.

Brand new bass. One slip with the router and it's a mess.
Rear routing is a big job.
Battery box and side jack might be the answer.

Marco at Aguilar said it should fit.
Let the fun begin.

That's why you leave it to a professional.
If you do it youself and something goes wrong, you have to live with it, but if you get a professional to do it and he screws up, he would have to buy you a new body.

I had my luthier rear-route my Jazz bass, route for a P bass pickup and route for a 3 way Tele style switch.
It took him 2 whole days of work to pull it off, but he did a great job.
The bass was originally a regular top-routed Jazz, and here was the end result after routing.

Nice job. I would never attempt to do this myself.
What did it cost you?

Lets just say that a job like mine is very expensive. (Mainly because of the switch routing.)

I would imagine that a simple rear routing job, without the pickup and switch routing I did might run you about $100, maybe a bit higher.
