Aggie OBP-2 in a Jazz?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm trying to fugure out how to spice up my Jazz sound a bit. I have good pickups in it already (Marcus Miller bridge and Duncan neck)and it has a very smooth and classic tone. But I feel like I'd like it to be a little hotter sounding.

I had an OBP-3 at one time in another bass, and I know it is a very clean sounding preamp (I've read in this forum that it is an aggressive preamp, but I disagree)

How about an OBP-2? I read that it has a different tone than a 3-band. How might it help me get what I'm after?

Anyone fit the module and battery under the control plate?
If that doesn't work, I'd simply route a compartment under the pick guard; seems a straightforward task. I'd go for the V-V-stack version, the OBP-2sk.
