Aguilar 60s pickups!

hi guys!

I recently bought a Fender American Standard 5 String Jazz Bass and plan to change the pickups.

Does anyone of you have experience with Aguilar's 60s pickups?
I've seen some videos on youtube...the tone is awesome, but i don't know how much of that tone actually comes from the pickup or the wood in the bass itself.

here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO8IrIdtXlw

the bass player is Tamas Barabas and the Bass is made by MLP, great basses btw.

i've also looked into seymour duncans quater pound pickups, wich seem to be really cool, have a scopped kind of sound i read in one the threads here at talkbass.

i actually wanted dimarzios, but they don't have a 5 string pickup set which fit a Fender 5 string without any modifications.

i play a lot of funk, soul, r&b, jazz and aim for a sound like that

I've seen those clip and I'm very impressed by the tone. It can't come only from the wood.

What surprises me the most is that the tone says 70's JB to me while the pickups are 60's in 60's position.

Anyway great tone !
