Aguilar DB 680 problems..help

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys! I have a question. I bought a "mint" DB 680 serial number 248 on Ebay a few month ago. The problem was that it wasn't exactly mint. The master volume was broken. So when I plugged it in it popped and made some weird noises. Kinda like static. But it sounded to me as if there was another problem as well. So I sent it to Aguilar to have it repaired. I got it back and I put it in my rack last night. They did replace the volume pot and that works fine now, but I'm still getting the intermitent but frequent static crackly noise without touching any of the knobs. This happens whether I'm playing or not. I tried different patch cords, different speaker cables, different head, different power source, different bass ect, but to no avail. It cost me over $100 to send it to Aguilar and quite frankly, I don't have the cash to keep sending it to them. I was wondering if any of you have an idea of what it could be. I don't know if this helps, but the head I'm using is a DB 750 into a DB412. Thanks!!
