Hi, I am wondering will an aguilar preamp - Aguilar OBP-3TK OBP-3 work with 3 pickups (two lindy fralin noiseless Jazz pickups and a Nordstrand Musicman style Pickup)
THanks

This is something that certainly interests me as well. Recently, there was an Atelier Z on ebay with that setup. From what I can tell, you would have to locate the bridge jazz pickup just slightly closer to the bridge than the typical 70's position. That would allow the MM to be in the exact StingRay location. As far as how to do it electronically, I haven't a clue.

OT, but the thread title reminded me of an e-bay auction heading. just cramming in as many "catch phrases" and "go-to words" as possible. whatever. carry on.

According to their wiring diagram it should. Because the pickups get blended before the signal goes into circuit. Therefore you should be able to use any number of pickups. You'll need to work out how to blend the three pickups.

Still, your best bet is to ask Aguilar directly. They are very prompt IMHE.

3 pickups

well actually I was intending to have the two lindy fralin noiseless jazz pickups in the normal 60's position and place the Nordstrand Musicman type pickup directly between the jazz pickups. I know this will effect the sound but I think its the optimum way of doing it. The body will be a rear routed warmoth, will this rear routed body have enough room. I was hoping to have it setup with 3 volume pots and treble, mid, bass pots with the aguilar mid switch.
I will be taking the bass to a shop to get it wired up.

3 pickups

I see the benefits in this as:a
1)not having to have to store 2 basses only 1
2)able to switch between the two sounds with the turn of a dial
and not changing basses.
3)its cheaper to have 1 bass with the extra options setup than have 2 basses

3 pikcups

Hi again,
Will the Aguilar OBP-3 OBP-3TK
work with 3 pickups (two lindy fralin noiseless jazz pickups and a nordstrand musicman pickp)
Does the Aguilar OBP-3 OBP-3TK work with 3 EMG pickups (J+MM+J)
Sorry for repeating the question but I really need a final answer that it will work before I order the routed body
Thanks
Will.

Think of Lakland 55-02/55-94/etc. That bass actually has three pickups because MM pickup can be split (neck coil/bridge coil/both) with a 3-way switch.
