Question Aguilar OBP-3 or Bartolini NTMB with Bart Pickups in a Fender P

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm planning on fitting out my P bass with Bartolini 8S P pickups and a Bartolini BC4CBC BC Soapbar in the bridge position. I also want to drop an active preamp into it and I was leaning towards an Aggy OBP-3 or a Bartolini NTMB 3.4...

I'm interested in any comments regarding any of my upgrade decisions... especially which preamp to go for.

here is a "shop" of what my bass will look like with the BC in the bridge spot... yes it ...was... a Highway 1 Upgraded.

I'd also go with the aggie.

I like bart pickups by themselves but found them too dark when combined with the bart preamp.

heheh nothing is totally decided, hence this thread!! I could also drop a Nordstrand Big Split Soapbar in the bridge instead of the Bart.. and leave the Nordstrand NP4's in the P position.. then drop in an Aggy OBP-3? sound like the making of a hot bass?

Personally, I have definitely a better opinion about nordstrands than barts. Yeah, nordstrands and the aggie definitely sound like a great setup. If you're not completely positive you wanna go active, maybe check out the villex passive system plus their passive rotary booster. Either way, it will sure be a sweet bass!
