In general, a pickup wired in series will have a fuller and fatter midrange with a subdued high end than a pickup wired in parallel, which will typically have more highs and a deeper low end with a cleaner midrange. Series pickups also have more output than parallel pickups
Bassically, loaded with 2 bartolini dual coils, with series/parallel/single coil switch on each pup, and an OBP-3 with a 400 / 800 Hz switch and a active/passive bypass with a dedicated passive tone knob. Your bass would grow exponentially with the number of tonal variations you could accomplish |
sorry about my lack of knowledge about preamps and pickups.. hope you can help me out
so, I bought a Cort RB5 korean bass that the electronics was upgraded with OBP3 preamps and barts USA which i can't find out what model it is, the seller says that those barts pu belongs to some handmade bass..
1. So how to find out that those barts pickup was dual coils or not?
2. can we wire the OBP3 midrange frequency from 400hz-800hz to 3 selectable freq just like NTMB does?
