Aguilar OBP3 for my G&L L2500 Tribute - your thoughts?

Did I say Alembic OBP3?

I've got a G&L L2500 Tribute and I'm considering installing an Aguilar OBP3.

For those of you who are unaware here's a description of G&L L2000/ASAT/L2500 electronics:
The pickups are humbuckers somewhat similar to a Singray pickup. There are three preamp modes: passive, active, active w/treble boost. There are treble and bass cut controls and they work in all three modes. In addition to this the pickups have been wired to a parallel/series switch.

I prefer the sound when the bass is in passive mode with bass/treble full on. All the preamp does is boost the singnal and increase the treble a bit.

This week I've got parts coming that will allow me to replace the volume and pickup switch with a vol/vol stack, and then I'm going to wire seperate parallel/single coil/series switches for each pickup.

Am I right in thinking that the Aguilar OBP3 preamp should be pretty transparent when the EQ knobs are set flat? If so, I should be able to set them flat and get a sound similar to the way I like the bass right now, right? Plus, I'll have treble, bass, and mid boost and cut for more tone shaping.

How do the EQ knobs color the sound when engaged?

Would this be a worthwhile investment in your opinion?

Thanks!
