aguilar OPB 3

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi its me again, with a question about the Aguilar OPB 3. I have a friend who bought one and never used it didnt even take out of the box. Anyway he gave it to me, I have a USA Fender P-bass with that useless S-1 swirching. Could I use this in my bass and how would it help me, what would it do for me. I use a SWR 700 workingpro head with a 15 and a aguilar GS 210 cab. Thanks for your help once again.

You can use the preamp in just about any bass with passive pickups.

I have an OBP-1 on my PJ Jazz bass, but personally, I don't know if I would want a 3 band EQ on a regular P bass...
It just seems kind of overkill to me.

Make sure you have a passive tone control and an active/passive switch if you want to keep your regular P bass vibe.

What he said. As far as what it will do, well its an onboard EQ, so you'll be able to control bass, mid, and treble from your bass. I personally like the tone control from the obp3 more my amp and its more convenient. Another thing to consider is if there's enough room for the pre, battery, extra pots ect.
