Aguilar OPB-3TK/PP

Hey All,

Looking to change the preamp in my Yamaha BB614. I have read that it is a typical preamp in a bass of this price range, but I have always done passive, so my take is that it is kind of thin clanky and too modern sounding for my taste.

I really love the fit finish and feel of the bass. I really want to keep it.

Does anyone have experience with the Aguilar OPB-3TK/PP ? It is three pots with a push pull on the midrange. It would fit the current three knob config with no mods to the bass, I think.

What about the tone ? I know it won't sound passive but I want some FAT when I want it. It is after all, a P-J setup, I want P-bass fat. Will this unit deliver ?
Thanks.
