Aguilar pre - Do I need to change the pots?

Sign in to disble this ad
Bass is a Spector NS2000/Q5 with EMG 40DC's (pots that came with these PU's were installed) and the stock EMG BTS tone circuit. I want to upgrade the pre in hopes of getting rid of the midrange honk this bass has...

1. do I need to upgrade the pots?
2. If I do, will which ones? Will the pots that come with the Aguilar pre be sufficient?
3. How do I know if I have the right pots? Are they marked in some way?

thanks all!

Use the same volume pots that are on the bass, the other pots should come with the preamp.
