Agulair OBP-1 Carvin Upgrade

Sign in to disble this ad
I have had a LB75W Claro Walnut Carvin bass for a while. I love the action and playability. However I am not too impressed with the active tone. So I am on a mission to upgrade the preamp. I have decided to go with the Agulair OBP-1 I have done a lot of research I have a few questions. To be honest I am a total electronic noob. I know only what I have learned researching this project. I need some knowledgeable eyes to review my setup. Here is my wiring diagram

1. Will this setup work??? Particularly I am worried about the on off switch and passive tone. Im going from the info gleaned from this document.
http://www.aguilaramp.com/pdf/support_wiring_obp1.pdf

2. I have a humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck. I know that there can be different tonal impacts of the passive tone knob on these different types of pickups. Will I face any difficulties blending these two pickups??? Should I use a 500k pot for the humbucker? I would just use the stock one; however the POTs on the Carvin are hardwired into the circuit board.

3. I have a pezio pickup in the bridge (which I never use) Do I need a new bridge or can I just leave the connectors unconnected?

Thanks in advance
