Sign in to disble this ad
I have a 87 fender jazz special with alembic pup's she has a JP configuration..
the origional swich was left on so as to not leave a hole I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a wireing diagram so I can use the swich for series paralel right now she has one tone control and two volume.. I am a firm beleiver in "the more tones the better" can anyone out there help?? thanks R.

Are you sure the switch is not plugged into anything? It could be a Q switch for a filter. Is it Alembic pickups and electronics?

FWIW:

sounds like an activator set. I would contact Alembic. Alembic is not your typical street stuff. I've got an activator set and it looks pretty hermetically sealed. You're talking about jacking with about $300 used market value and ending up with maybe no sound at all. I'm guessing the installer made a wise choice.

If you're a firm believer in the more tones the better than I'd forget about jacking with the bass where it's solder/unsolder -and your stuck with it for the interim. Once you get a solid tone, go outside for variation where it's choose whatever and plug/unplug and play.

Oh yeh, it should have a battery and there should be clips connecting the pups not solder joints if it's the activator harness. Without a pre those pups won't put out much.
