Alembic Pups question

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any experience with these AXY Alembic pickups? They are pricey but already installed on a bass I am looking at for about half the cost of the pups alone.

If you like the Alembic tone, there you go. Does the bass also have the Alembic electronics?

If it has Alembic Electronics, you should have no trouble. Typically, Alembic pickups are very low impedance and output so a preamp is a must and theirs would be the best match.
Just looked at the suggested retail price on the Alembic website-Yowch! I'll be really careful with my Series I from now on....
The "Alembic tone" is very clean with lots of top and bottom. You sometimes have to go fishing for Midrange but it's there, just don't assume you have to totally peg the tone to the treble side like you do on a P Bass.

Yeah, pricey!! Good advice on the output. I hadn't thought of that.
