Aluma tone bass bars for Explorer bass

I have one of the new explorer basses (Silverburst) and while the pickups (Gibson ceramic) are ok, I am wondering if anyone has used the Lace Aluma-tone bass bars as a replacement?

There is a little bit about them here.

Lace Alumitone Bass Bar 4.5 6-String

Try search for Alumitone. Mentioned in quite a few threads.

Yeah, I saw that didn't want to derail the thread.

Are they the same pickups as used in the Thunderbird? I like the ceramics in my SS Thunderbird, good clean lows, but not as deep and clear as the Alumitones. My luthier described the sound as big, he hadn't seen any bass Alumitones before just the guitar ones.

Yeah, they are the TBird pickups. Not bad, but I would like a pickup with more range.
