Am I losing my mind? (Bongo content)

I had been wanting a Bongo 5 for a long time, and finally pulled the trigger on a Bongo 5 H/S/P. Now that I've had it for a few weeks, and a few gigs, I've found myself gravitating towards the piezo's on their own. Seems to have an amazing clarity and beautiful fundamental that the H & S seem to lack.
I've also tried highbeams, black beauties and chromes. Still gravitate towards the piezo on it's own.
Have I lost my mind? Or did EB nail the piezo problems with their pre? I notice no "piezo honk" or hollow sound which normally plague piezos.

Just wondering if anyone else had any similar feelings after getting a bongo, or any EB with piezo?

FYI - Running direct to power amp (Bass VAMP Pro pre bypassed) then to a Schroeder 1210 and/or Yorkville 1-15 and 2-10. And I play classic to modern rock

first a little shout out from a former Buffalonian to "redwood".

I am shopping for a new bass right now and have a Bongo high on my list.

I have been trying to find out more about what kind of sound the Bongo Piezo's are capable of producing. I can't find any sound clips online of a Bongo Piezo.

I have come to understand the Piezo's revolve around bridge vibration and are perhaps more of an acoustic sound??? Is this true?

I am looking for a bass with a big rich warm sound. I played a Bongo HS and liked some of the sounds but was wondering if chasing down the added piezo was worth it for the sound I am looking for.

Any descriptions of the sound they produce on the Bongos would be a great help!
