And a good setup is always good. You may bring it the a good bass tech. For a bass this good, it's nothing to pay a little to get a perfect set up.
I changed strings several times and this didnīt helped. I also did several setup changes, but this didīt help either.
I setup my basses to my preferences and since the clanky sound of the E-String is not caused by fretbuzz i think this is not a setup problem. The only thing i can imagine that might help with the problem in regards of the setup is to set all strings to the same height, but this is very uncomfortable as you can imagine and i donīt think that fender designed a bass that needs a setup like this to sound good.
Can this be a problem with the electronics? Disfunctional Pickup, bad wiring or anything like this? I am not very familiar with the electronic of guitars and am not able to figure out what might cause a problem like this.
Thanks for help!
