Annoying buzz

I have a Peavey Grind 6-string and I had this annoying problem start a couple months ago. The thing won't stop humming. If I touch the strings the buzz softens but does not go away. Can anyone help me?

Start by trying another instrument cable. Even try another bass through your rig. Once convinced that the problem is in the bass, you'll have to dig into the control cavity looking for broken or disconnected or loose or cold-solder-jointed ground wires. Make sure that all shielding is still connected to ground and that all ground wires are making good solid connection. Since the bass was fine before, it seems pretty certain that something came disconnected in there or developed a bad connection. Since touching the strings makes the hum less that pretty much says it's a grounding/shielding problem.

I have twken the bass through multiple rigs and used multiple cables and the buzz is still there, as soon as I get a chance I will take a look around the wiring to find anything loose. Thanks for the help.
