IMO experiment with it in both decide which on you thing is best suited for it. If you already own it experiment and then you'll have the final verdict on which bass it works best in.

After reading some of the reviews here on TB and on the website, I ordered the Audere JZ5B today.

I hope it is everything they say it is...sounds just like what I want.

This preamp truly is amazing! I received it on Saturday morning and had it in the bass(KSDj705) in about an hour. This was my first major surgery so it may have taken me a little longer than most, but I wanted to be sure and took my time.

I was anticipating plugging it up and it did not dissapoint. Not sure what else I can say that has not already been said on TB. It was so quiet compared to the stock preamp. I also got a mid control that I did not have before. That coupled with the Zmode switch gave me many tonal options, not to mention the exact tone I was looking for.

I play a lot of blues and I like to ride the bridge a little more, but before, when I did, I would lose a lot of low end, but now, with the neck on low z and the bridge on high z, I can roll the blend back to a little more bridge and I can boost the lows and they are clean and full from the neck pup, all the while the bridge is hot and growly. It's rich and thick just like chocolate milk!!!

Did I mention this is all with stock pups! I was thinking about upgrading the pups, but for now I am very happy, at least until the g.a.s. pains start for some Nordies, Rio Grande or UJ's.

I gigged with the set up on Saturday night and several other bass players from the area stopped in and were very impressed with the tone. I am sure at least two of them will be contacting Audere sometime very soon.

Thanks Audere for delivering what you advertise as well as the support to get it in and help with any adjustments. It is refreshing to see this type of customer service in an industry that is not really known for it.

Great review! I'm glad you are also a happy Audere owner. You're right, the neck/low-bridge/high setting is the bomb.

Petch, did you make any adjustments to your LowZ gain? I realize that the lower frequencies are not as loud or audible to the ear, but I was thinking about turning up the LowZ a bit.

Yep, I turned the Low-Z gain up just a bit! The bottom end you can get is awesome.
