Anthony Jackson's Fodera wiring

I'm just curious to know what's exactly in that little jack cavity... Does anyone know if, in fact, his pup goes straight to the jack with no parallel or series R, L, C or anything else added? Is it purely and simply pup to jack, nothing else?

To the best of my knowledge (had few private lessons with AJ and I've held his very bass) his pickup goes directly to the XLR jack

I guess, the answer is yes.
once I've read an interview with him, and he said something like "preamps need to be supplied by big transformers, not 9V cells", which is nonsense IMO, but it explains how he feels about preamps.
well... he didn't say, that any passive elements are banned from the cavity, but I guess, yes

by the way: I like straight to the jack wiring, too.

This would be the place to ask your question: http://talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=612078

...and this would be the man to ask: http://talkbass.com/forum/showpost.p...4&postcount=12

Jason (Just Thumpin' ) is a very nice person and is great at answering all Fodera related questions.

Jason,

Thanks for stopping by...we were just talking about you.

While you are here, I am curious about a couple of things pertaining to AJ's pickup:

I know it is a dual-coil Aero, but I do not know if the coils are wired in a series or parallel configuration. I am assuming that the coils are wired in series.

The other thing I am hoping you can clear up for us is about AJs pickup placement. If you measure from the center of the pickup to the 12th fret (or the nut), what is the exact distance in millimeters (or inches)? Better yet, what is the exact distance to the two rows of pole pieces?

Thanks,
Bryan

Two good questions. I will have to ask Joey tomorrow at the shop as I do not know them off the top of my head...
