Any Custom Preamp builders out there

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a project bass I have been working on for awhile. The logistics of the preamp I will require would be wordy to explain. I was just wondering if anyone here on TB did some custom work or could recommend me to someone to talk to about getting some work done.

You might try Dave Meadows at Audere. Ever since I had a stereo bass I've wanted separate tone controls for each pickup. He has a highly configurable preamp called the 3ZB that I have in one of my basses. He's also a good guy and generously spent time helping me through a problem with a bad luthier.

David at SGD says he'll build one for you. He's closed his internet shop temporarily because he's behind in pickup orders but you could start an email discussion about what you want.

I have to agree with Dave. I have 2 of his 4band preamps and I LOVELOVELOVE them.

Michael Pope (thepontif) is a member here, but it wont be cheap - in cost or workmanship.

The Bee Pre is great. Glockenklang has a good sounding pre too. Also, consider the massive possibilities of a passive setup....
