Any EMG PA2 users here?

I have an active bass that I want to convert to passive and then add a buffer circuit of some sort, the PA2 is one of the options I'm considering. If I do, will 500k pots work with it? I'd be going with a volume/balance/tone setup and have the PA2 be the fourth piece.

I have used the PA2 in a couple of basses in pretty much the same way and it worked perfectly.
