Are you 100% sure that this is a PAIR of SC pickups? One of them is reversed wound with oposite poling? Otherwise there is no humbucking effect and series mode might make the problem "more hearable" than parallel mode?
The more impedance/resistance is, the higher the noise???
The volume pot not only puts hot to ground but also adds series resistance to the impedance of the pickup (and series PU wiring has more impedance than parallel) ...
@ David: Gute Besserung!
I think some native (jewish?) English speaking Americans also say: Gute Gesundheit!
Or in English: Get well soon! | They are two humbuckers. Fully shielded.
My name is German, but not I'm not Jewish. I'm mostly Italian!
Yes, in the States we say gesundheit when people sneeze!

I don't care about people's religion or where their origin is. During the last 125 years my ancestors came from Germany, France, Poland and Russia.
"Jewish" only because I first heard the expression in the film "Mary & Max" - and (the jewish origin autist) said it not after sneezing (but he said "Gute Gesundheit") ... Pickup Problem:
With two humbuckers this problem is more than strange ...
If it was with a computer I would say: The problem sits in front of the monitor ...
I am also no friend of "star wiring". Especially after I saw a broadcaster that mobil antennas were like a star until they found an even better method. Many German WWII tanks also had star antennas ...
Hard to tell where the problem is without having the bass in front of you. Maybe a little more "planed chaos" might help? |

That said however I empathize with the difficulties inherent to running your own small business and complications due to unforeseen events. It's life, **** happens.
Hope your hand is healing up David! |

| | | | You and me both Lucy Trials and tribulations of owning a small business aside, it's not the waiting I mind so much, it's the B.S. and miscommunication. I think that is what bothers everyone who hasn't gotten their pickups the most. If I could have my money back and be done with this "transaction" I would, but I guess David doesn't have the money.

This will help prevent more backlog.
