Please send me an email. I'm not responding to people in this thread.

If you already sent me one and I didn't answer, please send another. I get a lot of emails and I miss some of them. Not all my orders come from TalkBass, and I can't always keep track of your order with your screen name here. But it you email me I have something to work with.

Or send me a PM here. But tell me who you are and what you ordered.

I'm getting orders out every week. If you didn't get one yet it's because orders were ahead of you. Because of my situation last year, I have some very old orders to fill. But I'm getting caught up.

I'm also working on newer orders at the same time.

Just wanted to drop a quick note and share my second great experience with David at SGD.

This time I ordered a set of SGD's for my Lakland 44-02 to replace the stock Lakland pickups which I do not care for. I ordered a Neo MM pickup and a vintage single coil for the neck.

Astounding. Whereas the stock Lakland pickups are muffled and 'rubbery' sounding (and poor at picking up the A string) the SGD's sound huge, wide, and airy.

David got them to me in a very timely manner, a little wait can be expected with custom made pickups. It's worth it.

Timely Manner....

Hey there MMBongo, I am going to assume that a timely manner doesn't mean over half a year in your case. Glad someone is getting their pickups at least. Got any clips?

Regards,

Ed

One of my pickups had an issue and had to be remade. They were to be mailed this past week - this time for sure. No update on my tracking number. Waiting for a reply from David to an e-mail I sent yesterday.

Yep, very timley. Less wait time than Bartolini or Nordstrand, that's for sure!

I'm working on come clips, should have some soon. It's quite astonishing how much better the SGD's sound over the Lakland pickups. I hope that comes through on the clips.

Did you receive your pickups recently, or did you get them before the current backlog?

Hang on everyone.... got a big batch going out this week. Craig and Ed, your orders are going out too.

I've been nursing my sick cat, taking him back and forth to the vet. He was close to death last week, but I think he's going to make a recovery.

Anyway, it's been taking up a lot of my time. I have to syringe feed him and stuff. Very stressful.

As a cat owner, I can attest that everything gets dropped when the cat needs care!

David, I'm very glad your cat is recovering.

The bad stuff:
No response from multiple emails.

I would like my pickup shipped this week with no more excuses. Email me back today with your response from my latest email on February 8th.

Ok, so I just recently placed my order with SGD for a full set of electronics for a Fenderbird I am putting together.

On the customer service side, Dave has been great communicating by email as we traded several ideas to make sure I ordered the product I was striving for. So what I am getting isn't completely custom, but it isn't completely standard either.

1 full Set of wide Aperture N3 Thunderbird pickups overwound, his 2-band preamp modified to use a stacked tone section, and a few pots and switches.

I did this fully understanding the difficulties and issues some of the people here are having. So I know that ultimately patience is my friend in this case. I also understand as I am doing some body guitar work in my spare time while going through some personal upheaval. So what I originally thought was a reasonable timeframe has been impacted severely. I can also only comment on my person experience with Dave, which has been excellent so far. I have full confidence that will continue.
