I also use the Line 6 G50 and it sounds perfect. I wouldn't say it sounds better than a cable, just that it transmits more highs than a cable. The interesting thing about the Line 6 G-series is the cable-tone knob; it rolls off highs in the same manner as a cable of the length you choose via the knob.

I've also noticed the delay when standing at the back of the room, but that's just a distance issue, not a wireless issue as mentioned by others. There's no delay at normal distances.

I find it odd that a GC employee would NOT want to make a sale!! He'd be fired for a stupid comment like that! Your job is to SELL! SMH!

Relay G30 for about 6 months now and couldn't be happier. No delay that is noticable. Sure, if I'm a long way from the speaker, but you get that without wireless too!

I've played a line6 x2 wireless for about two years or so and I like mine. My band plays a lot of small stage type of shows and to be able to go somewhere to find room and not be tethered is great. On new years I went and danced with the audience, great fun.

I'm not more than 20 feet away usually, so I notice no delay.

I know many many people that use wireless and I've never heard this before...any truth to it?????
It's just not true. No delay whatsoever.

The only time you will hear a delay is when you play so far from the amp that you can then notice how sound travels slowly in air (340m/s)... that's all.

The digital wireless systems also have no sound degradation unlike the old radio based systems.

I have been using a Line6 G30 for about 3 years now. Fantastic.

I own a line 6 g30 wireless. I got that one because it takes standard 1/4 instrument cables the g50 does not. Sure its plastic but if its mounted on your pedal board who cares? go get any line 6 wireless and you will be happy.

I go wireless all the time (including practice)....nothing to trip over and can move freely to guitarist or drummer. I've had AT, Carvin and Line 6 and liked them all!

Have you heard this before? "Never take advice from Guitar Center employees?"

I'm sure you have and there is a reason for this.

I've been running wireless for over ten years with my Shure u1s without issue. It was insanely expensive at the time, but also has been the one piece of gear I have never had to worry about. I'm looking to go digital next and the line 6 stuff is where it's at.
